Immunization saves more lives and prevents more diseases than any medical treatment. The vaccines develop the defense system in your body (immunity) so that you are protected against diseases.

Basic vaccines are given at an early age and each of them has a specific time. Each of the vaccines must be spaced by a defined interval to ensure their effectiveness. Therefore, the immunization schedule of Qatar has been prepared to keep all these issues in mind.

You may need an immunization certificate for school/college admission of your child in Qatar or outside the country.

You can get it certified at the Communicable Disease Control and Vaccine Surveillance Section counters, on the ground floor of the MoPH building.

The green card for vaccinations of children has been laid off and the Primary Health Care Corporation has issued an improved booklet that includes all the information related to child health. This booklet is available in all health centers, and customers can get it from the health center where they are registered.

Vaccine safety depends on many factors and one of the prime ones is its quality.

To ensure the best vaccines, irrespective of the cost, Qatar orders its supply from the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended countries. A regular check is kept on their efficacy and quality control is reinforced through vaccine surveillance section and supervisory visits of WHO. More than one company supplies the vaccine but only those listed as Registered Vaccines are the main sources for the entire country.

Timely vaccinations can protect your child from severe illness and conditions.
