On Monday, In the attendance of Prime Minister and Interior Minister and NTC Chairman of the Board H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Than, the National Tourism Council uncovered Qatar’s first global destination campaign under the tagline ‘Qatar. Qurated for you.’, intended to make the gulf nation a tourist destination for genuine and enticing visits. The campaign will be rolled out across fifteen existing and targeted priority markets and focuses on Qatar’s initiative to bring tailored experiences to tourists who wish to celebrate the nation’s heritage.

The campaign is set to run across print, TV and various digital platforms in eight languages including Arabic, English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Turkish and Mandarin. It is targeted towards 225 million travellers across 15 different nations including Russia, India, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, UK, Ireland, USA, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Scandinavian countries.

‘Qatar. Qurated for you’ was officially displayed in three official languages including Arabic, English and Mandarin at a formal ceremony held at Sheraton Doha Hotel. In the official promotion video, captivating visuals of the most remarkable tourist locations in the country were displayed including Souq Waqif, the Corniche, the Museum of Islamic Art, Sealine and Inland Sea, National Museum of Qatar, Doha Skyline as well as the East-West/West-East sculpture in Brouq nature reserve. The campaign is set to proceed in partnerships with reputable international TV networks including CNN International, Al Jazeera Network, BeIN, Digiturk and SkyTV. Various advertising tactics were also discussed in the ceremony to spread the campaign far and wide.

As Qatar has seen steady economic growth, the campaign’s launch comes during a prosperous period of growth and advancement for the tourism sector. Last month, Qatar Tourism Authority and the Permanent Committee for Conferences were officially converted into the NTC and the newly established government platform sets forward ways to implement fundamental initiatives across both public and private sectors in which development of solid tourism infrastructure and exceptional visitor experiences are delivered.

The revised model and the international promotion campaign are vital ingredients in the sector’s strategy ‘The Next Chapter of the National Tourism Sector Strategy’ that was launched earlier last year. This comes in addition to Qatar’s revised issuing of visitor visas which has made it earn its ranking as the 8th most accessible country in the world, and the first in the Middle East.

NTC official, Hassan Al Ibrahim said, “We’re proud of this campaign and the process followed to develop it, which took into account input from our partners in both the public and private sectors, whether in Qatar or internationally. This process is representative of our ethos as an industry, which is deeply rooted in the spirit of collaboration and partnership to deliver exceptional experiences at every touchpoint of the visitor’s journey. We look forward to bringing the spirit of Qurated to life, on people’s television screens, in airports around the world, and eventually here in Qatar where the world is welcomed to experience our authentic heritage and forward-looking vision.”

NTC representative Rashed Al Qurese, further added, ”Qurated is more than an advertising campaign: we’ve closely examined what Qatar offers as a destination to bring into sharp focus the essence of the Qatar experience, and how it can be tailored to each of our visitor segments.” He added, “To deliver bespoke end-to-end experiences to our visitors while achieving true impact for the industry, NTC is partnering with some of the world’s most popular travel platforms such as TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet so that prospective visitors can curate their next visit to Qatar from the moment they read about the destination, through to making reservations and enjoying the destination’s various cultural and natural attractions.”
