Popular weekend seasonal attraction, Torba Farmers Market has launched an online marketplace promoting locally grown farm produce and supporting small businesses and artisans to bring their products to a wider audience.
Launched in part due to the social distancing measures put in place following the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the virtual market offers a variety of farm-fresh local seasonal vegetables, dairy, and eggs, locally grown cut flowers, gardening supplies, organic and vegan food products, and eco-friendly health and wellness items.

Torba is also offering a selection of freshly baked whole wheat bread, bread buns, fresh pastas, labnehs, chutneys, and tapenades from its own kitchen.
Other freshly made artisan products available include wellness shots and cold-pressed juices from Vitamin Bar, vegan chocolates, pestos, brownies, nut butters, and more.
Currently, the online farmers market is in the soft opening phase, delivering limited numbers of orders from Sunday to Thursday between 10 am and 6 pm.

Orders and delivery capacity are expected to increase as the market builds its operations.
Orders received before 12 pm are delivered by the next day, while those received after midday are processed the next day for delivery the following day.
Customers can also choose to collect their orders from Torba’s Duhail store from Sunday-Thursday 11 am – 4 pm.

The online version of Torba Farmers Market takes its cues from the physical marketplace, with a focus on buying local and organic, reducing waste, and minimizing single-use plastic.
Fresh vegetables, dairy, and eggs are sourced through several participating farms, including Al Sulaiteen Farm, Al Ajuz Farm, Al Dana Farm, Agrico, Sidra Farm, Sharq Farm, Safwa Farm, as well as Torba Farm.
Torba Farmers Market is a popular weekend seasonal marketplace located at Education City’s Ceremonial Court every Saturday from November to April.

Season Three of the market was cut short in the first week of March when social distancing measures began taking effect around the country.
To support marketgoers and market vendors, Torba decided to trial online marketplace as a way to continue embracing the market community spirit while seeking to bring awareness to a larger audience of the importance of shopping local, maintaining an eco-friendly outlook and also supporting small local businesses.

Popular vendors selling through Torba online include: Candeel, Nature’s Treasures, Vitamin Bar, Knot by Heba, Go Nuts Qatar, Yalla Vegan, Pesto Kitchen, and Refill Station by Torba. Vendors will continue to be added as the virtual market expands.
Shoppers can visit www.farmersmarket.qa to find out more and to begin their virtual market visit.
