Core Responsibilities For Lifting/Rigging Supervisor

• Plan Execution: Ensure every lift follows the documented method statement and lifting plan.
• Team Coordination: Supervise crane operators, riggers, and signalmen/banksmen during operations.
• Pre-Lift Inspections: Verify that all lifting accessories (slings, shackles) and lifting machines hold valid inspection certificates and are safe for use.
• Site Safety Checks: Inspect ground and outrigger conditions, and establish clear exclusion zones and barricades.
• Toolbox Talks: Conduct safety briefings with the crew before any lifting work begins.
• Authority to Stop Work: Immediately halt any lifting operation if unsafe weather, mechanical issues, or plan deviations occur.

Key Responsibilities For Riggers

• Check and test all lifting gear like slings, shackles, and chains.
• Measure weight and balance of loads before lifting.
• Direct crane operators using hand signals or radios.
• Secure items tightly to prevent slips or falls.
