Core Responsibilities For Lifting/Rigging Supervisor
- Plan Execution: Ensure every lift follows the documented method statement and lifting plan.
- Team Coordination: Supervise crane operators, riggers, and signalmen/banksmen during operations.
- Pre-Lift Inspections: Verify that all lifting accessories (slings, shackles) and lifting machines hold valid inspection certificates and are safe for use.
- Site Safety Checks: Inspect ground and outrigger conditions, and establish clear exclusion zones and barricades.
- Toolbox Talks: Conduct safety briefings with the crew before any lifting work begins.
- Authority to Stop Work: Immediately halt any lifting operation if unsafe weather, mechanical issues, or plan deviations occur.

- Check and test all lifting gear like slings, shackles, and chains.
- Measure weight and balance of loads before lifting.
- Direct crane operators using hand signals or radios.
- Secure items tightly to prevent slips or falls.
