Role Purpose
Store manager works to support Management in meeting sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction through supervising the Floor Staffs team and day-to-day operational store activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
- Supports in maintaining store staff by orienting, training employees, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Support in conducting personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths.
- Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
- Implements approved business strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
- Control, manage and minimize all controllable costs efficiently and within planned budgets
- Effectively communicate sales targets and results to ensure the team understand their role in delivering them.
- Meet sales goals by maximizing sales at every opportunity and training, motivating,
- mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff.
- Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensures availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts, maintaining
- inventories.
- Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
- Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
- Supports in review of weekly sales. Conduct weekly store and pop-ups walk arounds, work closely with procurement team to know the best / worst product lines are and customer needs.
- Works with Buying & Merchandising Co-Ordinator to formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
- Works with Buying & Merchandising Co-Ordinator to suggested products selections, providing weekly customer feedback and reports, and creating an annual product launch calendar.
- Reviewing stock levels instore and determining additional needed sales promotion, clearance sales, price markdowns, and studying trends to communicate to procurement team.
- Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential
- and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Implement marketing strategies for the store and build relationships with other retailers.
- Upholding standard operating procedures for the store and continuously work to improve store efficiency.
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Support in creating monthly floor plans.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Supporting in creating regular reports including but not limited to report on buying trends, customer needs and requests, sales and profits, monthly business reports.
- Maintain any Damage Reports, Incident Reports and collect customer data for events and updates.
- Support in developing in-house services such as gift wrapping, personalization events, trade nights offering and other revenue streams.
- Promote all in-house services and events.
- Propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
- Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational events;
- reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in
- professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Monitor any stock and financial discrepancies if any take the appropriate measures.
- Comply with inventory stock take procedures to take place after store closing hours.
- Reporting any stock damages and losses to Storekeeper and providing any required
- supporting evidence for stock take reconciliation.
- Monitor any discrepancies if any take the appropriate measures.
- Checking stock book and verifying the sale quantity.
- Excess stock will be added in stock register & shortage will be debited to concern staff.
- Carry out monthly competitor comparisons to monitor pricing position and identify emerging trends
- Working closely and communicating with all teams to ensure high levels of collaboration to meet business objectives.
- Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance.
Additional Manager duties as needed:
- Regular Rounds for observation purposes
- Verification of Revenue with account
- Assess customers’ needs and aid and information on product features.
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries.
- Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sales.
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas.
- Actively seek out customers in store.
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
- Process POS (point of sale) purchases.
- Cross sell products.
- Handle returns of merchandise.
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service.
- Build productive trust relationships with customers.
- Comply with inventory control procedures.
- Suggest ways to improve sales (., planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
- Monitor any discrepancies if any take the appropriate measures.
- Attendance at training sessions as required.
- Assist in and comply with monthly inventory stock takes (or as required by the company) to
- take place after store closing hours.
- Attend monthly retail team meetings.
- Accountable for cash handling, cashing up and banking using correct in store processes and procedures.
- Ensure that store housekeeping standards are continually achieved.
- Remain knowledgeable with gift wrapping skills and personalization services.

Qualification & knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- High school degree: BS degree in Marketing or related field would be a plus.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
- Availability to work flexible shifts.
- Proven work experience as a Floor Staff, Sales representative or similar role.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Proficiency in English and Basic Math skills
- Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Track record of over-achieving sales quota
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
