DFI Cinema presents 'A Symphony of Films'
Doha Film Institute is pleased to invite you to celebrate some of the works of great film composers who have collaborated with remarkable filmmakers from all over the world.
Highlights of the series include the Qatar premiere screening of German director F.W. Murnau’s expressionist horror film ‘Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror’ with live accompaniment by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra; Patrick Doyle: A Symphony of Films, a concert of great compositions from Doyle’s career; as well as a master class with Doyle.
Films screening in the series include ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ by Sergio Leone; ‘North by Northwest’ by Alfred Hitchcock; a free youth screening of the 3D animated Pixar Studios film ‘Brave’ with Patrick Doyle, who composed the score, in attendance; Akira Kurosawa’s ‘Ran’; ‘Caramel’ by Nadine Labaki; and ‘Landscape in the Mist’ by Theo Angelopoulos.
A Symphony of Films will be held from 22 to 26 September, 2016, at the Katara Drama Theatre and the Katara Opera House.
