IDC Women Transforming Technology Summit

The inaugural edition of the IDC Women Transforming Technology Summit will feature a Masterclass Arena and distinguished speakers on the topic of digital transformation and D&I on October 7, 2021.

Focused on the theme ‘Educate, Engage, and Empower’, the free-of-charge digital event will feature Chairperson at Sharjah Business Women Council H.E Sheikha Hind bint Majid Al Wasimi, who will be the honorary keynote speaker.

The pursuit of diversity and inclusion (D&I) has gained significant traction in the last decade, highlighting the vital role of women in technology.

Many women have successfully acquired senior roles in the industry around the world, proving the view that diverse firms perform better, hire better talent, have more engaged employees, and retain people better than organizations that do not prioritize diversity and inclusion.

Digital transformation is fundamentally about cultural change. Aside from technology, change management is critical, and there should be a strong emphasis on building a diverse organization. According to IDC research, more than 80 percent of C-suite executives believe that diversity and inclusion initiatives will have at least some influence on their organization.

According to IDC data, at least 35 percent of businesses around the world have D&I requirements as T&C criteria for IT suppliers, demonstrating their corporate commitments to bolstering social efforts – as more clients want to engage with partners and vendors who share their values.

In the tech business, diversity is a hot topic, and because it is talked about so regularly, it's easy to believe that things have already improved. Women, on the other hand, are disproportionately underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields worldwide.

IDC is dedicated to setting new industry benchmarks with the hope that the IDC Women Transforming Technology Summit will serve as a platform for accelerating the adoption of D&I best practices across the area.
