Indian Expatriate Sports Meet 2015
In solidarity with the National Sports Day of the State of Qatar, Youth Forum Qatar, in association with Qatar Charity and with the support of Al Arabi Sports Club, and Friends Cultural Center organizes ‘The Third Indian Expatriate Sports Meet -2015’ on the day of the National Sports Day 10th February 2015 and 13th February 2015.
The meet is one of the major events which are conducted under the patronage of Ministry of Youth and Sports on the occasion of the National Sports Day of this year. The Meet is being organized to express the support from the Indian expatriate community to all sports initiatives of the State of Qatar especially to the Football World Cup ‘Qatar 2022’.
‘The Indian Expatriate Sports Meet’ organized for various Indian expatriate organizations in Qatar aims at creating a healthy sporting culture and fostering cooperation among community members.
The first day of the event will be at Shantinikethan Indian School and Arm Wrestling, Volleyball, Shuttle Badminton, Double and Tug of War will be the competitions of the first day. The inaugural ceremony will be attended by eminent, personalities from the sports arena of India and Qatar, as well as the representatives of Qatar Charity, Friends Cultural Center, and Al Arabi Sports Club.
The track and field events will take place at Al Arabi Sports club on February 13, 2015 where a colorful march-past by all the competing teams with the accompaniments of popular cultural displays will be showcased. Winners of the first three places in any event will be awarded with certificates and medals. Trophies will be handed out to the Overall Champion, Runner-up and Third place. Best March past, Best Team Coordinator and Best Disciplined Team will be chosen to be felicitated with special prizes. All prizes will be distributed on Friday - February 13, 2015 in the Closing Ceremony attended by dignitaries from Sports and other Government authorities in Qatar.
