Practical Lab: Sound Editing
In collaboration with La Fémis, the Institut Francais Qatar, the French Embassy in Doha, FNAC and Fifty One East.
In this inspiring workshop, participants will learn all the technical and artistic skills necessary to master post-shooting soundtrack production. Upon completion, trainees will be self-sufficient technically in the post-production environment, and fully understand sound theory and its dedicated tools.
Summary:
This workshop is a six-day programme for six sound editors.
Participants will work on a 2-3 minute scene (image + all the different audio tracks of the soundtrack) using 6 Protools suites, Foley artist, and Foley studio.
Trainees will learn to tell a genuine story with a soundtrack. After the first day dedicated to the importance of aesthetic in audio st—orytelling, attendees will learn all the technical aspects of sound editing and sound design, from cleaning the recorded sounds to the importation of additional sounds and Foley, and the preparation of the all the necessary tracks for the final mix.
You may also be interested in the ‘Sound Mixing’ practical lab that takes place from 25 to 30 October. It is possible to apply for both labs, but you should mention this in your application.
