Qatar’s first National Sports Day was held on the second Tuesday of February in 2012, ever since it has been celebrated yearly as an event to promote a healthy lifestyle and living, growing the scope of sustainable development, and improving the standard of living within the community in Qatar.
Qatar is proud to celebrate the 11th edition of Sports Day and prioritises the significance of sports and the physical health of residents. This day is considered a national holiday, with many people gathering around in a safe environment to enjoy various sporting activities.
These sporting activities include tennis, taekwondo, cycling, basketball, volleyball, football and much more. Football is undoubtedly the most popular among the sporting activities. Social competitions occur during the day and are open for all age groups. Also, Al Shawahef is one of the cultural inclusions in this event.
