Qatar Sustainability Week 2021
In line with its national campaign aimed at building sustainable, healthy, and resilient communities, Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) will host the sixth edition of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) from October 23 to 30, 2021.
Corporate organizations and individuals will be allowed to participate in this year's unique edition by registering for free through QGBC’s website.
QSW is a one-of-a-kind platform for promoting Qatar's sustainability vision and bringing together essential stakeholders under one tent to fulfill the country's long-term development goals.
The week plays an important role in creating awareness about the necessity of environmental preservation and developing long-term business practices.
Since its start in 2016, the QSW has seen over 160,000 people participate in 920 activities with the help of 600 partners and has reached over 3 million people via traditional and social media.
Qatar Green Building Council is delighted to announce the 6th edition of #QatarSustainabilityWeek, which will take place between 23 – 30 October 2021.

QGBC, a member of Qatar Foundation, encourages all public and private sector organizations, including schools, universities, and community groups to register and participate in this year’s edition of its sustainability-oriented activities, initiatives and events.
Much like last year, corporates and individuals have the special opportunity to make a pledge to support their own community in its drive to promote sustainable living.
The pledge is an all-encompassing commitment to protect the environment and combat the real and present threat of climate change by taking bold actions like banning single-use plastics, reducing waste through responsible consumption, reusing and recycling products, promoting healthy spaces, conserving water and energy, choosing a greener mode of transportation, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
The pledge also challenges individuals to try to decrease their personal carbon footprint by joining the UN Global Compact, certifying their assets, issuing sustainability reports, and promoting carbon-neutral operations.
According to QGBC director Meshal al-Shamari, the event offers the perfect opportunity for corporates and individuals to come together to be a part of the movement here in Qatar.
“We encourage local organizations to participate in any environmental and sustainable activities and events that they have planned for this week.”
Environmental issues will be front and center just two days after the QSW ends, when the United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP26 – takes place in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 1 to 12.
