In this 4 day, week-long course, students will explore the different areas of Islamic art. Using pencils and markers, they will practice stylized drawing techniques while learning about floral designs in Iznik art and the history of falconry. Later, they will learn watercolor techniques when painting their designs using water, brushes and watercolor paint. Students will also have a closer look at Geometry and practice making some of the common geometrical patterns found in Islamic art using pencils, erasers, compasses and rulers. Finally, they will use scissors, watercolor papers, glue sticks and paint to create a 2D Iznik vase design.
