Buying a Gold Bar from the Gold Souq in Qatar

I recently came across what seemed like a good deal at the Gold Souq in Qatar, where I planned to buy a 24-karat gold bar. However, I noticed that the price they quoted was significantly higher than expected.
When I checked the gold rate on a popular website, the listed rate was much lower, yet the shop was asking for over 100 Qatari Riyals more.
I’m curious to know if others have experienced a similar situation where a shop charges much higher than the current market rate.
For me, gold remains one of the best investments.
