This is one of the ploys some companies use not to pay an employees his dues.
There are several steps you can take. First, lodge a complaint with the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC). You will need to go their office with your QID and they will register your complaint. If the sponsor of your previous company is a Sheikh, the NHRC people will hesitate in registering your complaint. They want to save their jobs. They may however, call the company in such a case and ask them why they were not paying, possibly with some threat of action. This rarely happens.
Your next step will be to lodge a complaint with the Labour Office. Usually, they hear the case within two workings days. The employer's representative needs to be present there on the date of hearing. If the ruling goes in your favour, the company will be given a specific time limit to settle the issue. If they don't, you will be advised by the Labour Office to lodge a case with the Sharia Court. That makes things a bit difficult. It usually takes around 6 months for the Sharia Court to give its verdict. During this period, you must be present in the Court on each date of hearing, otherwise the case will drop. Companies usually don't attend during the initial days set for the hearing. They know all the tricks of "the game". As such, for you it may be a long fight to get your justified claim. Your former company will try to wear you out forcing you to forget your money.
