I guess the friend and you were involved in illegal business of selling liquor just to supplement your income. Bootlegging is good business and gets you money, real fast.
Several years back, I knew of a person involved in bootlegging in S Arabia. He was supplying liquor to even Saudi nationals. He had superb income. But then, he always kept himself prepared for getting caught, fined, jailed and deported.
you seem to be unfamiliar with the rules.
If you do not have a permit, you are not allowed to enter QDC,
Your friend that sold you the alcohol would have got into trouble with the old rules. However, now only the person holding the items are in trouble.
Your friend was being good to you. He is not supposed to sell or distribute the alcohol, it is from his personal consumption and has to take it home immediately from QDC. Do not put your friend in trouble, if QDC comes to know about it, they will terminate his licence.
He is at fault for giving you a receipt, it incriminates him. Good the Police did not want to see the receipt.
Enough said on this topic.
Again thank u very much for ur response. I did have receipt for that honesty. I bought it from my friend from qdc. But the person who catch me didn’t want to see anything that’s the problem. I didn’t have any chance to explain anyway thanks again. I will check with embassy .
Sachindra, be mindful of what you respond. It is a crime.
In your initial post, you say you do not have a licence, which means you cannot have a receipt.
Secondly, alcohol in any form is alcohol.
Thirdly, people who have the licence, have an undertaking that once you purchase your stock from the syndicate, you put it in a safe place and take it home directly,
Check with the Qatar Embassy in your country if there is a ban (not band) on your return to Qatar.
All the best.
Thanks for ur reply. But let me explain something. It was not a crime. I had the receipt for that liquor also. And when I ask from police they said only for 6 months I have travel band. And beer is not a illegal thing in Qatar. I know some people who deported they come back after few months. Just wanted to know how I check my status. Thanks again
You just don't need to check your "status" any more. Just relax in your home country for the rest of your life. After all, which country would like to allow a foreign national back in to their country who was kicked out for committing a crime?
