Moving Dubai to Qatar via road using Own car

Hi Friends,

Asalamum Alaikum...

I am planning to move from UAE to Qatar in February 2023. I am currently a resident in UAE and my visa will be cancelled soon.

I have to move to Qatar, since i got a new job offer. I would like to take my car for relocation to Qatar . Since my UAE visa is going to expire , I understand that I have to make an export plate from UAE and drive through borders of UAE and Saudi.

I need to know the formalities to enter Qatar border using my Car with export license. Since I have only Business Visa from Qatar , Am I allowed to cross the Qatar border with my car? If allowed, how long I can use the export licensed car in QATAR.

Also, i want to know if my UAE driving license is valid in Qatar even if my UAE resident visa is cancelled.

My car is of 2019 model FYI.

Hi Jake,

My simple question is: Why go through all that hassle? My simple suggestion is: Sell your car before you leave the UAE and buy a new one in Qatar. You will find plenty of them in all brands and models in Doha.

I believe you may be able to continue using your UAE driving license in Qatar but to be on the safe side, you can get hold of an International Driving License from the UAE. You can drive in Qatar with this license for about three months as I am told, within which period you can get the UAE driving license changed to a Qatari one.
