Directions to Duhail to collect my new car license plate.

By Pradeep Kodagoda

Can anybody give me the directions to Duhail to collect my new numberplate ?, Do they fix it on the same day. When I renewed the Istemara, at Madinath khalifa Murur they asked me to go to Duhail after 5 days.

Proceed on Al Shamal Road and cross Lulu (Garafa) which comes on your left. Landmark Mall in on your right and just after Landmark mall, take exit on the right.

You will come to a huge roundabout which is below the Al Shamal Road. This roundabout has signal (stop-light).

Take the second exit on your right on this roundabout - this road goes on to rejoin Al Shamal Road

Just before this road joins Al Shamal Road, after crossing Qatar Petrol Station (on your right), you will see an eye-level sign-board giving direction to number plate work-shop.

As per the direction of this sign-board, you need to turn right, go right up to next round about, take a U turn and enter Police Training Institute. There are sign-boards at the right places to direct you.

At this workshop, you need to park your car in the parking lot, go to the office, hand-over your registration card. They will fetch your new number plates and then you will drive your car from parking lot to the bay for changing number plates.

In about five days after re-registration, you will get a text message saying that your new number plates are ready and should be collected within next 30 days. Of-course it definitely helps to have your mobile number registered for Metrash (e-governance messaging service of Ministry of Interior)

The number plates are changed at Workshop in Duhail. This is located within the Police Training Institute. The location is as follows:

Proceed on Al Shamal Road and cross Lulu (Garafa) which comes on your left. Landmark Mall in on your right and just after Landmark mall, take exit on the right.

You will come to a huge roundabout which is below the Al Shamal Road. This roundabout has signal (stop-light).
