Here are some must visit museums to expand your horizon during your stay in Qatar.

 

Mathaf: Arab Musuem of Modern Art

The Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar, stimulates innovation, promotes dialogue, and inspires new ideas by providing an Arab viewpoint on modern and contemporary art. It was founded in 2010 and is considered one of the country's most important cultural attractions. The Arab Museum of Modern Art, which was converted into a school building in Doha's education city, Mathaf, is home to the region's largest collection of Arab art, with over 9,000 items collected over 25 years.

Saturday through Thursday: 9 am - 7pm
Friday: 1:30 pm - 7 pm

3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum

One of Doha's most unusual museums, the National museum for sports history and heritage, aims to preserve, explore, and promote sports as well as Arab artifacts.  The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is one of the most cutting-edge sports museums in the world. The museum is one of the top national and international places for sports history, tradition, and knowledge, and is known for displaying its spectacular collection in various areas of the world. It is part of the Olympic Museum Network, which consists of 22 Olympic museums throughout the world.

Daily: 9 am - 7 pm
Friday: 1 pm - 6 pm

Mshreib Museums

Msheireb Museums is a Msheireb Properties project that honors the histories of four ancient heritage houses in Msheireb Downtown Doha, Qatar's capital city. Each section of the art museum in Qatar focuses on a distinct aspect of Qatar's history, such as ancient slavery, the discovery of oil and gas, traditions, and the growth of Arabian Gulf countries. Individual, group, and institution guided tours, as well as instructional visits for schools, universities, and youth centers, are available at the Msheireb Museums. After the tour, you can go to the gift stores and eateries where you can try some of Qatar's most delectable cuisines.

Monday through Thursday and Satuday: 9 am to 5 pm
Friday: 3 pm to 9 pm
Sunday: Closed

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum  

The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is a privately owned museum in Qatar's Al-Shahaniya municipality. The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is one of the Middle East's most unusual museums, with stunning treasures that appeal to culture vultures, history buffs, adventurers, art lovers, and even vacationers. Sheikh Faisal's travels throughout numerous nations over the previous 50 years are reflected in the unique and valuable collections he has amassed. Sheikh Faisal's keen eye for safeguarding Islamic and Qatari customs is reflected in the museum's outstanding collections. ​​Qatar heritage, Islamic art, coins and currency, and automobiles are among the four themed collections, which have nearly 15,000 objects from all continents.

National Museum of Qatar

Qatar's rich heritage and culture are celebrated in the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ). They invite people from all walks of life to join together in our vibrant and immersive venue to learn about Qatar's past, present, and future.  Jean Nouvel designed the building, which is located at the beginning of the Doha Corniche and incorporates the restoration of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani's palace, based on the quartz desert rose. Registration is required for visitors.

Location: Museum Park St, Doha, Qatar

Opening Hours:

Daily: 9 am to 7 pm (Last ticket at 6:45 pm)

Friday: 1:30 pm to 7 pm

Price: QAR 50 for outsiders
