All you need to know about Al Waha Agricultural Services and Trading

Under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Qatar International Agricultural & Environmental Exhibition 2021 took place from March 23-27, 2021, at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

The exhibition highlighted innovation in agricultural techniques and pinpoints the road map to achieve food security and sustainable development.

Al Waha Agricultural Services and Trading is showcased their products at the exhibition. 

Al Waha Agricultural Services and Trading is a well-established provider for agricultural services, excels in all phases of production and packaging of diverse products of the farms equipped with modern tools and technology for large, medium, fan, and pad cooling and net house design.

Founded in 2018, the farm has earned a solid reputation for producing high-quality products at competitive prices and all through local production.

The farm specializes in hydroponic agriculture which a new farming system in Qatar and Al Waha farm is currently the biggest farm using this system.

The farm produces several types of vegetables including cucumber, capsicums, eggplants, hot bell peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, and squash. The farm's specialty is eggplant.

The greenhouse also called net house is used to protect the production as the farm uses new technology and produces on a large scale. It is best to use a net house or cooling system using polycarbonate.

This will protect the plants from heat. If needed, a greenhouse can also be covered with shade.

In Qatar, the soil is full of limestones, stones, and salt. Additionally, water is salty, and rain is exceedingly rare. The farm uses coconut peat in the bags because it will maintain and keep the water for a long time.

For example, during one irrigation time or two irrigation per day, if they use 11 liters of water for the plants, the soil will remain wet, and the combination will keep the fertilizers for a longer time. It also helps the plants grow. It is an efficient way to grow plants on the farm.

Annually, the farm produces more than 1,500 tons of fresh, healthy, high-quality fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits.
