Doha Festival City (DFC) has announced its partnership with Qatar Charity (QC) for a joint initiative dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan.

As part of the ongoing #Festival Cares initiative, DFC donated 1,000 boxes with essential Ramadan food supplies distributed to the workers throughout the Industrial Area and other locations, and to the families with limited income, with the support of QC as part of its ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.

Each box contained bottles of oil and concentrated juice beverage, a pack of rice, lentils, and sugar; a bag with a box of dates and a box of teabags, all provided by Doha Festival City.

The distribution was held ahead of Ramadan with the aim to support the targeted workers and families to get ready for the Holy Month.

Robert Hall, Festival City General Manager, said, “Giving back to the community is at the heart of Festival City’s mission, and we will continue to mobilize our efforts to support the people of Qatar from different backgrounds. We take pride in considering ourselves as an engaged community player that contributes to building a more inclusive and prosperous society where no one is left behind, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

We would also like to thank Qatar Charity for supporting us to fulfill our charitable mission and express our appreciation towards the great efforts they continue to make to the community and lives of the people in Qatar and beyond every day”.

Mr. Ahmed Al Shirawi, head of the External Relations and Social Responsibility section at Qatar Charity, expressed his appreciation for Doha Festival City’s charitable initiative during the holy month, “Qatar Charity is committed to integrating private companies in charitable work and helping them to deploy their corporate social responsibility activities to drive positive change in the country. Successful partnerships with private companies are a fundament of charitable action on the local level and much-needed support for the vulnerable across the globe”.

At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall.

Following the latest government restrictions, kids below 16 years old are not allowed to enter the mall, and the mall continues to operate with overall capacity and parking spaces reduced to 30%.

All food courts, restaurants, and cafés are closed until further notice, with takeaway and delivery options still available.

Fitting rooms of all retail stores, prayer rooms and ablution areas, health and beauty centers, Edge Fitness, kids’ playgrounds, play centers, and theme parks are closed until further notice.
