Home broadband speeds not as advertised

I have raised the issue with Ooredoo technical support on multiple occasions to explain why I only get 5MBps uplink/upload from the internet when my subscription is 500MBps Down and 125MBps Up. They always send a couple of level 1 technicians, who are completely unaware of the reason for their visit, despite having explained it clearly to their telephone support personnel. They plug in their laptop and show me that the speed between my home and their Doha Ooredoo OOKLA Speedtest server is fine... I explain to them that this is not why I contacted support and that all I am asking for is for Ooredoo to deliver on the subscription agreement as any paying customer would demand! Did I miss any small text that says subscription speeds limited to local (Doha only) connections? I then usually perform in front of them multiple Speedtest runs to random EU/UK servers, and they ALL end up with around 5MBps upload rate. Once they see that, they give me the dumb look, appears that even they were never aware of this, seems they only do local speed tests which are completely useless and irrelevant in the real world. They then leave promising to talk to management about this and to get back to me. Guess what? next day I get an sms from Ooredoo saying that the problem has been solved and the ticket has been closed. What a joke. Anyway we can hold them accountable for the fake subscription speeds or at least raise a serious complaint with Ooredoo upper management to enlighten them on the incompetence of their whole support structure and employees??

Cheers

Sam
