QL Lifestyle interviews Spanish Michelin star chef, Dani Garcia
Qatar's fine dining scene has been enriched with another stellar new addition.
The first branch of Bibo restaurant, owned by international celebrity chef, Dani Garcia, opened its doors to the public earlier this month.
Nestled within The St. Regis Doha, the restaurant offers Andalusian cuisine infused by international flavors.
Jorge and Gigi had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with the artist of flavors, Chef Garcia, to learn more about the concept behind the restaurant and his thoughts on introducing the cuisine style in Qatar.
According to the celebrity chef, BiBo’s name comes from the actual Spanish pronunciation of the word “Vivo” which means lively. This aptly sums up the ideology behind the cuisine that the restaurant offers and also mirrors the chef's personality.
One of the highly-acclaimed Andalusian chefs, Garcia, is famous for using his imagination coupled with modern techniques to present Spanish flavors in exquisite ways that leave a lasting impression on diners.
He is a graduate of La Consula Hospitality School in Málaga where he was one of the several apprentices of iconic Spanish Chef Martín Berasategui.
In 2004, in the kitchen of Calima García first developed culinary applications for liquid nitrogen, which is now a modernist culinary staple.
His culinary experiments lead him to develop some matchless flavors that diners from all around the world come to enjoy at his restaurants.
One of the most famous dishes at BiBo is the Brioche De Rabo De Toro, the one and only Oxtail Brioche with the famous B’bull sauce.
Other top favorites of customers include the Ceviche De Corvina, with striped bass and ají Amarillo ceviche; and the Atún A La Parilla with grilled tuna tenderloin, sautéed mixed green beans with mint and warm aji panca red pepper sauce.
A unique feature of BiBo Doha is that it merges the restaurant's traditional flavors with Middle Eastern spices, so you can delight in a truly unique gastronomic experience.
"My restaurant is a culinary travel guide created to enjoy a global cuisine fused with my own roots. I hope all our guests in Doha will enjoy our unique Spanish cuisine with our own personalized international twist," Chef Garcia said.
