1. BigB Meetup

Dates: April 20, 2019

Time: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Where: Al Aziziyah Boutique Hotel

A unique initiative that brings the community together to look at the goodness of individuals and appreciate the gift of life, the BigB Meetup is back with its third edition.

All set to take place on April 20 at one of Doha’s most iconic hotels, Al Aziziyah Boutique Hotel, the BigB Meetup 3.0 will embrace the theme: “This Ability- Championing people who are differently abled.” The event will see four differently-abled speakers enlighten the community with their stories.

The BigB community events are the brainchild of Bosco Menezes, well-known Doha-based photojournalist and a popular social media activist. With Goan roots, Menezes grew up in Qatar and has more than 20 years of experience in the marketing and media field with a professional eye for photography.

Under his own brand Big B Fotografi, he has taken the lead to organize some major meetups and photo exhibitions in Doha over the last years.

The meetups, which serve as a platform to connect locals and expats in Qatar, spring from a desire to inspire, inform, educate and spread the news of good deeds performed by individuals and groups of people in everyday life, with hopes of such spirit to affect the wider community.

The master of ceremonies will be Ahmed Al Shahrani while Menezes will be launching the BigB Fotografi Awards during the event.

The event will run for a total of 2 hours from 4pm to 6pm. About 100 participants from organizations caring for differently-abled individuals such as Shafallah, Hope Qatar, Best Buddies Qatar in addition to people from the expat and local community are expected to join the event.

2. Karting at Losail Circuit

Dates: April 18-19, 2019

Time: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Where: Losail Circuit Sports Club

Entry: Price (for adults) - QAR 125 per karting session of 15 minutes (with mask included) and price (for kids) - QAR 25 per karting session of 5 minutes.

Enjoy fast and furious go-karting action at Losail Circuit Sports Club!  Choose from a selection of go-karts and race head-to-head with your competitors for a shot at karting glory.

This karting experience is perfect for competitive groups of friends or families looking for an action-packed weekend.

Kids aged 8-14 years old will be permitted while also considering their body fitness and height (minimum height of 120 cm)

3. Kids On The Moon

Dates: April 7-27, 2019

Time: Saturday-Thursday 10:00 am-10:00 pm, Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Where: East Gate 3 beside Debenhams, Mall of Qatar

Mall of Qatar invites your little ones to discover Kids on the Moon, an out of this world edutainment experience for kids from 5 to 10 years old.

Let your budding astronauts travel into the world of space discoveries through an interactive exhibition in which they see, and even experience, some of the sensations of real astronauts.

Space shuttles, games, astronaut suits and more have landed from NASA and ESA (European Space Agency) transporting your kid’s imaginations straight to outer space!

4. Perfect Little Planet

Dates: April 19, 2019

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Where: Al Thuraya Planetarium, Katara Cultural Village

Entry: Entry is free for all

The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara invites everyone to the screening of ‘Perfect Little Planet’ at Al Thuraya Planetarium.

First screening will be from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (in Arabic)

Second screening will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (in English)

5. X-Ray Fashion

Dates: April 1-21, 2019

Time: Saturday –Thursday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Friday: 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Where: Qatar Museums Gallery, Al Riwaq

6. Baraka: Blessing of the Garden

Dates: April 2- May 2, 2019

Time: Weekdays: 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Where: Oxygen Park, Education City

Entry: Entry is free for all

If you're interested in plants and their medicinal and daily benefits, gardening, botany and history, be sure to check out the 'Baraka: Blessing of the Garden' exhibition in Education City.

Students from the Museum and Gallery Practice MA programme at UCL Qatar, in collaboration with the Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG) – a member of Qatar Foundation (QF) – are set to host the exhibition from 2 April till 2 May at Oxygen Park, in QF’s Education City.

The exhibition highlights the use of plants mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith, and their significance to society. The narrative of the exhibition aims to inform and engage visitors, and, encouraging them to think about how our everyday life involves and depends on plants, is divided into four categories: cosmetic-medicinal; edible; lifestyle; and fragrance. It is the first of its kind in Doha, and aims to inspire an appreciation of nature amongst the community members.

Indian Stand-up comedian, Sunil Grover is coming to Doha for the very first time on 26 April, 2019 to fill the evening with absolute laughter.

The event will be held at Al Dana Club’s Al Jewaan Hall, organized by Wirohub Events.

Known for his humorous observational comedy ranging from politics to traffic, he is one of the best in the comic field as he has a string of hilarious tales up his sleeve.

Sunil Grover rose to fame for his portrayal as ‘Gutthi’ on ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ but became popular for playing the role of ‘Dr. Mashoor Gulati’ on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

He was ranked No. 77 on the 2017 Forbes India Celebrity 100 list.
