hi everone, my friend's father is heart patients.his heart is only 20% working.need to transplant his heart.this is very costly in his country. he is currently in his home country(Pakistan). is it possible that if he come to Qatar on visit visa and get the treatment from Qatar Govt.like hammad hospital.or from Qatar charity ? or he has to come on employment or free visa ? does QID matters ? if somone has any information please guide, that how could he get treatment here ?whats the procedure please guide..he realy needy person.
thank you so much in advance all of you.
There are several things to note.
First, with a heart functioning only 20% as you say, it would be very difficult for him to travel to Qatar from your country on a commercial flight. He may need an air ambulance.
Second, Hammad Hospital to my knowledge treats patients who hold a QID or people who are on visit visa and there is an emergency situation that has arisen which needs immediate attention. I don't think they will accept such a case as that of your father. If the government brings him in on humanitarian grounds, it is a totally different matter.
Third, I am absolutely sure that treatment in your own country will definitely be much cheaper than in Qatar. Getting a donor for a transplant is not easy.
Several years back, I needed a cataract surgery in one of my eyes. The charges in local hospitals was around QR 13000. I had the surgery done in my own country for around QR,1500 at one of the best hospitals in my city. This should give you some idea of costs.
