With the current COVID-19 pandemic, all residents of Qatar are expected to have Qatar health card registered under one of the many available health centers in Qatar.

Owning a Qatar Card entitles the holder to several benefits from the government facilities, including subsidized prescriptions and consultations.

The Qatar Health card, unlike other cards issued by the government, does not come with an expiry date on the physical card. Instead, an online system tracks the validity of your health card and allows the user to keep the issued health card.

To check the validity of your card, you can visit the Health Card E-services page on Hukoomi. You will be required to type in your QID number and then select the ‘Check Expiry’ option. This will then inform you if it is required to renew your Qatar Health card.

The annual costs for renewing your Qatar health card are as follows.

Steps to renew your Qatar Health Card

Firstly, you will have to visit the Health Card E-service page on Hukoomi.

You will then enter your Qatari ID number and the ‘Renew (Update Expiry Date) option under transaction type.

Filling in the application form shortly after will allow you to receive the voucher by email or SMS. Also, note that the number of years will reflect on the total payment amount. You can then confirm your filled in details and click “Next” if the information does not require any alteration.

The next step requires you to fill in your bank card details to process the payment.

Once the payment has been confirmed, the screen will display that the payment has been acknowledged and will allow you to print a receipt. However, this will not be required as you have a receipt via email or SMS.

The Qatar health card can be renewed at any time, even after expiry, and the user will not require a new card after renewal. Furthermore, the same website can be used to replace a lost or damaged health card, allowing you to take advantage of Qatar’s easily accessible health care facilities.
