Muaither Health Center designated as COVID-19 testing facility: PHCC
The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced that the Muaither Health Center will be used as a dedicated facility for testing and observing individuals suspected of having contracted the new coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
This will be effective from today, March 12, 2020, PHCC confirmed in a series of tweets on its official Twitter page.

The Corporation highlighted some changes in services, which are as follows:
For walk-in appointments, patients should visit nearby health centers in either Abu Baker, Al Rayan, WAJ or Al Waab.
Moreover, all antenatal, well-baby, ultrasound and NCD appointments will now be rescheduled at the Al Wajbah Health Centre.
All other clinic appointments will be rescheduled to another date as soon as possible, PHCC said.
Qatar’s health authorities have been on high alert while implementing the highest of monitoring, detection and management procedures to fight the disease that is now officially considered a ‘pandemic’ by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Yesterday, as officials from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced 238 new cases of COVID-19 in Qatar, they assured the public that all necessary measures are in place to contain the spread of the infection among the population.
Furthermore, the public is urged to follow all recommended preventive measures including these:
- Maintain proper hygiene to prevent the risk of infection
- Avoid large social gatherings
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- If you have recently traveled to countries most affected by COVID-19 and develop concerning symptoms, visit the doctor immediately
- Avoid physical contacts such as through handshakes
- Avoid touching eyes, nose after touching surfaces
- Be assured that health authorities in Qatar are very capable of providing the best care to prevent the disease from spreading
