14 Qatari Athletes Ready to Shine at Paris 2024 Olympics
Qatar is set to make a powerful impression at the Paris 2024 Olympics, with 14 male and female athletes representing the nation in a diverse array of sports. The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) announced this lineup during a press conference, underscoring Qatar's robust participation in the 33rd edition of the Games, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, Director of the QOC Sports Affairs Department, and Mohammed Saeed Al Misnad, Director of the Qatari administrative delegation, were present at the announcement. Al Fadala highlighted the honor and pride in Qatar's involvement, noting the unparalleled scale and prestige of the Olympics. He praised the rigorous preparations and dedication of the Qatari federations, expressing confidence in the athletes’ readiness and ambition to achieve remarkable results on the world stage.
Al Fadala emphasized that the QOC has provided comprehensive support to all federations, both in the lead-up to and following qualification for the Games. He expressed confidence in the athletes' capability to perform with excellence, uphold Qatar’s name, and meet the stringent qualifying standards set by international federations.
Mohammed Saeed Al Misnad detailed the representation of Qatar across five federations: athletics, volleyball, shooting, weightlifting, and swimming. The impressive roster includes prominent names such as Mutaz Essa Barsham, Abderrahman Samba, Abubaker Haydar, Bassem Humeida, Ismail Dawood, Ammar Ismail, Saif Mohammed, and Shahad Mohammed in athletics; Saeed Abu Sharab and Rashid Saleh Al Adhuba in shooting; Fares Ibrahim Husouna in weightlifting; Sherif Younis and Ahmed Tejan in beach volleyball; and Abdulaziz Al Obaidly in swimming.
