32nd Doha International Book Fair to be held at DECC from June 12 to 21
The Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) will host the 32nd edition of the Doha International Book Fair — under the slogan ‘With reading we rise’ — from June 12 to 21, announced Qatar’s Ministry of Culture.
While a number of local, Arab, and international publishing houses will take part in the event, many of them will also hold different activities at the venue.
The fair will feature seminars as well as cultural, literary, and musical evenings with the participation of prominent writers, intellectuals, and innovators from Qatar and abroad.

The Ministry of Culture said the slogan’s selection demonstrated Qatari people’s love for reading in their quest for knowledge and developing cultural awareness in the community.
It said Qatar’s population had also contributed to publishing valued books and distributing them in neighboring Arab and Islamic countries for the benefit of science students, intellectuals and fans of reading.
The ministry said the Doha International Book Fair was a vital platform to augment knowledge and have a glimpse of other nations’ experiences in the past and present, as well as engage in trailblazing ideas that open the doors of the future.
The Doha International Book Fair has achieved a myriad of accomplishments over the past years, including the localisation of books and instilling the culture of reading in the hearts of readers in the community, said Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali Al Maadeed.
The fair is a cultural inspiration hub in Doha and the entire Arab world, he added.
The 31st edition of the event, which was held in January 2022, had seen Qatar Museums take an active part. Their impressive booth hosted a wide selection of titles that gave insights into Qatari culture and heritage, history, Islamic art, sports, archaeology and orientalism.
Following 2021’s ‘Qatar-USA Year of Culture,’ which commemorated 50 years of bilateral relations between the two nations, the US Embassy was the guest of honor at the 31st Doha International Book Fair. The US Embassy’s booth had over 7,000 books for purchase.
Other than the Doha International Book Festival, Qatar has also organised other smaller events in the past. Last month, Qatar’s Ministry of Culture organised the second Ramadan Book Fair at the Darb Al Saai headquarters in Umm Salal. Qatar’s Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani inaugurated the exhibition.
