610 mosques, grounds to host Eid prayers; Qatari institutions announce working hours

With just one day to go for Eid al-Adha prayers, Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has completed all preparations for hosting believers in 610 mosques and grounds around the country.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the prayers, which will be held at 5:01 am on Wednesday morning.

The Ministry released a comprehensive list (in Arabic), which includes the name, number, and location of mosques and prayer grounds that will hold Eid Al Adha prayer in the country.

Meanwhile, several institutions in the country have announced special holidays and working times during the blessed period. Here is a look at the most prominent ones.

Hamad Medical Corporation

The following are the working hours of different departments of the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) during Eid al-Adha holidays.

  • The Trauma and Emergency Center will operate normally, 24 hours a day.
  • Pediatric Emergency Centers, for children aged below 14, will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Ambulance Service, for emergency medical assistance, will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • The Nesma'ak 16060 call center will operate 24x7.
  • The 16000 Government Healthcare Hotline will operate 24x7.
  • Outpatient clinics will remain closed from June 27 to July 3. 
  • Urgent Consultation Service will remain closed from June 27 to July 3.
  • Pharmacy Home Delivery Service will remain closed from June 27 to July 3.
  • The National Mental Health Helpline will remain closed from June 27 to July 3.
  • The National Blood Donation Centers will remain closed from June 28 to 30. It will work from July 1 to 3, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. 

Primary Health Care Centre

A total of 20, out of 31 health centers in Qatar, will operate during Eid Al Adha holidays, between June 27 and July 3. While family medicine and allied services will be available from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, dental services will operate from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.

On-duty health centers

Al Wakra, Airport, Al Mashaf, Al Thumama, Rawdat Al Khail, Omar bin Al Khattab, Al Sadd, West Bay, Leabaib, Umm Slal, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Madinat Khalifa, Abu Baker Al Siddiq, Al Rayyan, Mesaimeer, Muaither, Al Khor, Al Ruwais, Al Sheehaniya and Al Jumailiya.

Off-duty health centers

A total of 11 health centers will remain closed during the holidays. They are the centres in Al Wajbah, Al Waab, Qatar University, Umm Ghuwailina, South Al Wakra, Al Daayen, Al Ghuwairiya, Al Kaaban, Abu Nakhla, Umm Al Seneem and Al Karaana.

Specialized Clinics

Specialized clinics will operate in two shifts, according to appointments set for patients in advance. While the morning shift will run from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm, the evening shift will be from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Ophthalmology, dermatology, and ENT clinics will operate daily in Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centers.

Premarital Examination Clinic

The premarital examination clinic will operate as follows:

1. Al Rayyan Health Center: Tuesday, June 27, morning shift only.
2. Leabaib Health Center: Thursday, June 29, morning shift only.
3. Al Mashaf Health Center: Monday, July 3, evening shift only.

24x7 Urgent Care Facilities

The PHCC said 10 health centers will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide urgent care services. The health centers are Al Sheehaniya, Abu Bakr, Muaither, Al Ruwais, Al Kaaban, Umm Slal, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Mashaf Health and Al Sadd.

Medication Home Delivery Service

The Medication Home Delivery Service will remain closed from Wednesday, June 28 to Friday, June 30. Normal service will resume on Saturday, July 1.

Community Call Center and COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Hotline

The Community Call Center 16000 will provide a telephone medical consultation service 24x7. The hotline 40277077 — for booking COVID-19 vaccine appointments — will work continuously from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Ministry of Interior

The Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) security departments and traffic investigation departments will work around the clock during Eid Al Adha holidays.

However, the working hours of the service departments (Passports, Traffic, Nationality and Travel Documents, and Criminal Evidence and Information-Fingerprint) will be from 8 am to 12 pm.

Qatar Central Bank

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) said all financial institutions in the country will have Eid al-Adha holidays from Tuesday, June 27, to Thursday, June 29. All financial institutions will resume operations on Sunday, July 2.

Public prosecution

During Eid al-Adha holidays, the Public Prosecution in Qatar will work from Tuesday, June 27, to Monday, July 3, in the evenings, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. However, services will be available to the public 24x7 at the Hamad International Airport (HIA).

Several self-service kiosks will also be available, at HIA’s Departure Hall (24x7), Court of First Instance (Al Sadd), Doha Festival Mall main entrance (Al Daayen), Al Khor Mall main entrance (Al Khor), Villaggio Mall gate No. 5 (Al Waab), Ezdan Mall gate No. 1 (Al Wakrah), Public Prosecution building (Public Service), Search and Follow-up Department office (Residence Affairs Prosecution), Ministry of Interior (Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department), Ministry of Interior (Rules Execution Department), Ministry of Interior (Capital Security Department) and Ministry of Interior (Abu Samra port)
