66 events for Ramadan being organised by Qatar Sports for All Federation

The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) announced it will organise 66 sports tournaments and special events during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The events, which will target all segments of society, will enhance the importance of community sports and the necessity to keep active during the Holy month, said QSFA authorities during a Press conference at the Lusail Sports Hall on Monday.

Ramadan activities include the North Challenge Race at Heenat Salma Farm, Muay Thai training at Lusail Multipurpose Hall, Aspire Academy and Al Luqta Parks, cycling, fitness, table tennis, billiards, paddle ball, badminton, football, volleyball, basketball, and karate.

There will also be the Ayal AlFareej Championship, and another competition for the elderly in cooperation with the Ehsan Center.

Organisers said more women’s events were also a part of the programme this year.

QSFA’s Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari said they were keen to take sports to all stratas of society.

“This year, QSFA is organising more competitions and activities to maximize participation from people. Women’s sport is our top priority, and we’re hosting more events for them, including tournaments in football, volleyball, and badminton, at the Education City Stadium every Tuesday evening,” he said.

QSFA will also organise four desert running races on the mountain bike trail in Education City, the Al Thumama Ramadan Football Championship at Al Furjan Stadiums in Thumama area, the Community Football Championship, and the Third Ekbes Beach Volleyball Championship at the Old Doha Port.

“Sports eventds will be organized to coincide with global awareness days for disabilities, autism, obesity, and Down syndrome, alongside a walking program. Most of QSFA’s tournaments will be held during the first half of the Holy month,” said Al Dosari.

Al Furjan fields will also welcome people who wish to practice walking an hour before Iftar. Their comprehensive fields at Al Khor and Al Wukair will provide people with the opportunity to practice various sports, like basketball, handball, and walking.
