AFC Asian Cup 2023: 90,000 Tickets Snapped Up in Just 24 Hours
More than 90,000 tickets for the highly-anticipated AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 have been sold within the first 24 hours of the second release of tickets on November 19, 2023. Maximum number of tickets have been bought by fans from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and India. The most number of tickets were sold for the opening match on January 12, 2024, between Qatar and Lebanon to be held at the iconic Lusail stadium, which hosted the final match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The match between Saudi Arabia and Oman have also garnered a lot of interest among fans and constituted the second largest ticket sales.
The first sale of tickets which opened on October 10, 2023 saw the sale of more than 150,000 tickets to the most-awaited football event held in Qatar after the FIFA World Cup 2022. Qatar, Saudi Arabia and India led the way globally for sales in the first release as well.
Ticket sales are still ongoing for the tournament which will take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024. Fans can purchase the tickets for any of the 51 matches online through the official AFC Asian Cup 2023 website.
Nine stadiums are set to be the battlegrounds for exhilarating clashes among the top 24 teams from across the continent, organized into six groups. Among these, seven stadiums, namely Lusail, Al Bayt, Khalifa International, Al Janoub, Ahmad bin Ali, Al Thumama, and Education City, had previously hosted matches during Qatar 2022. Joining this esteemed lineup are two new additions, Jassim bin Hamad and Abdulla bin Khalifa stadiums, contributing to the state-of-the-art facilities selected to host the tournament.
