Dr Muhammad Saif Al Kuwari, the Supervisory Committee Chairman of Associated Scientific Conference AgriteQ 2023, said senior officials, professors, researchers and agricultural experts from Qatar and abroad will speak at the conference.
“The participants will exchange information, expertise and scientific data specialised in food security, agriculture, livestock and fisheries. This year, we’ve added a new issue ‘impact of the environment and climate change on food security’ to the conference for discussion and bring about innovative solutions,” he was quoted as saying.

“Three dedicated research papers on the impact of environment and climate change on food security will be tabled at the conference,” he added.
The conference will be held from March 15 to 19 in two shifts, from 11am to 1:30pm and 5pm to 8pm.
Speakers from El Salvador, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Iran and Kazakhstan will share their experiences and expertise during the first day of the conference.
On Thursday, research papers from Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and companies working in the agricultural sector, among others, will be tabled.
While some research papers will focus on the contribution of local plants to ensure food security in Qatar, others will be on assessing food production in Qatar through energy, food and water approaches and sustainable landscaping.
The International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha will also have a dedicated booth at the DECC, which will explain in detail and give a preview of what to expect at the mega event in October this year.
