
Al Garni bags 1500m gold medal while Qatar basketball champions win silver at Hangzhou Asian Games today

Qatar is making its mark at the Hangzhou Asian Games with athletes winning gold, silver and bronze medals. In today’s events, Qatar’s Mohammed Al Garni went on to win gold in the men’s 1500m final with an impressive timing of 3:38:36 followed closely by India’s Ajay Kumar Saroj with a timing of 3:38.94 and Jinson Johnson at 3:39.74, taking the silver and bronze medals respectively. Fellow Qatari athlete Abdirahman Hassan who also qualified for the men’s 1500m final, came in fourth with a timing of 3:40.55.
Meanwhile Qatar’s 3x3 men’s basketball team secured second place after a nail biting final against Taiwan with a score of 18-16 at the Hangzhou Asian Games today. While the two teams were tied at 16 with only 7 seconds to go, Taiwan's Lin Sin-kuan made two free throws bagging the gold for his team.
