Al Jazeera Media Institute wins three Marcom awards, including Platinum and Gold awards

Al Jazeera Media Institute has won three prestigious Marcom Awards, in recognition of its outstanding role in developing media training content.
The awards include a platinum award won by the Institute for its "Open coverage" program, presented by media expert Biba Ould Amhadi, which is considered one of the most important references for students, trainees and newsroom workers on organizing and managing open coverage, due to shortage of resources dealing with this important aspect of media work.
The institute also won gold award for its program "Artificial Intelligence in newsrooms", which highlights importance of modern technology in improving newsroom performance and facilitating processes of information collection and analysis. The program also addresses the use of artificial intelligence in newsrooms and problems related to that, starting from technical and professional obstacles that hinder effective integration of these technologies, challenges associated with public trust in machine produced content and finally covers the growing concerns about impact of artificial intelligence on professional ethics.
The institute also received an appreciation award for its program "From Event Site", presented by presenter Iman Ayyad, which reviews various topics related to television work, and provides practical advice and in-depth guidance to trainees and students of journalism aspiring to hone their skills in television presentation, both news and talk shows.
Commenting on this achievement, Eman Al Ameri, Director of Aljazeera Media Institute, stressed that these awards are conclusive evidence of training quality content provided by the Institute. She said, "Winning these awards confirms the Institute's pursuit of leadership and innovation, and its keenness to provide programs that keep pace with rapid developments in media industry". Al Ameri praised the efforts of the distinguished work team in providing high-quality training content that meets the needs of media professionals in various disciplines.
Al Ameri added that Al Jazeera Media Institute will continue to expand its training programs, focusing on utilizing the latest technologies to optimally qualify journalists. She also stressed the importance of adopting modern methods and templates that meet the requirements of digital era, to enhance the Institute's position as a leading destination in media training.
For his part, Mr. Biba Ould Amhadi expressed his great happiness that “Open coverage program” won Marcom Platinum Award, describing this award as "an honorable achievement, but it would not have been possible without Al Jazeera Media Institute, which provides the opportunity to produce this project and bring it to light."
He also thanked everyone who helped produce this program, saying, "I thank everyone who made an effort and contributed to achieving this work, and I pray to God, that this program will be a good seed that enriches media library and hope that journalism workers would benefit from it."
Ahmed Sidi, who supervised technical and editorial production aspects of the three programs, said the real value of these programs lies in their ability to transfer the knowledge heritage and accumulated expertise of Al Jazeera employees to media workers to Arab and regional levels. He explained that this rich experience and heritage will remain hidden in memories of their own owners unless they are recorded in written versions or published in digital content templates that facilitate access to anyone who seeks to benefit from the Aljazeera experience anywhere in the world.
The institute recently launched two new training programs targeting digital audiences. The first deals with arts of creative writing, prepared and presented by novelist and journalist Ahmed Val El-Din, while the second program focuses on translation of various kinds, highlighting basic work concepts in this field. This program will be presented by Mr. Mowafaq Tawfik, one of the most renowned experts in the field of interpretation.
