All You Need to Know About the Qatar Balloon Festival 2021

The 2nd edition of the Qatar Balloon Festival is taking place from the 9th -18th December 2021 at Aspire Park where 40 balloons from all around the world are participating, including Qatar's very own Asfary. The festival has been carefully curated to celebrate major events in the country including the Qatar International Food Festival, the FIFA Arab Cup 2021, Qatar Live, and Qatar National Day.

The Qatar Balloon Festival will host several activities to keep you busy. With hot air balloons painting the sky, the unforgettable spectacle includes balloons of various shapes, sizes, and characters to keep you entertained. From Germany, Brazil, Netherlands, and 30+ countries that are participating, you will be in awe of the display!

What’s Happening At the Event:

Sunrise Balloon Launches
Wake up slightly earlier and witness the 35 hot air balloons being launched at sunrise for the festival! The exact timings will be announced on their Instagram page

Floating Balloons
Witness how professionals tie and secure hot air balloons as you enjoy the festival. A balloon will be floating right about you as you watch a team of professionals showcases their talent!

Nightglow Balloons
Experience glowing balloons in the dark as the pilots stack the balloons next to each other to create perfectly glowing harmony! As this will be right next to the main stage, there’s no chance you’re going to miss this

Entertainment
Singers, DJs, bands, and a variety of performers will be at the event every single day to entertain the visitors, The lineup includes a violinist, magic show, dancers, jugglers, mascots to name a few.

Playground
A family-friendly event, the special arena has been set up for kids to enjoy the festival too! There is no age limit to who can come to the festival so there’s something for everyone. You can enjoy carnival games, football, VR games, or good old jumping castles and slides – it’s one show for all!

Food
Food trucks and kiosks are a huge part of every festival in Qatar now. So, rest assured, you’re covered here too.

Festival Details
When: 9-18th December 2021
Time: 4 PM – 10 PM (apart from sunrise launches)
Participant Age: Minimum 8 years old. Anyone below 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
*Pregnant or anyone who has recently undergone a major surgery will not be allowed to fly
