
Amir attends 24th Winter Olympics opening in Beijing

The 2022 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXIV Olympic Winter Games and colloquially known as Beijing 2022, is an ongoing international winter multi-sport event that is set to begin on 4 February 2022 in Beijing, China, with some events also taking place in Yanqing and Chongli.
At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of the friendly People's Republic of China, the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Beijing yesterday afternoon to attend the opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympics, which will be held in Beijing.
His Highness and the accompanying delegation were greeted at Beijing International Airport by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Deng Li, Qatar's Ambassador to China Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Duhaimi, and officials of the Qatari embassy.
The Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, attended the opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympics on Friday evening at the National Stadium known as the "Bird's Nest" in the People's Republic of China's capital Beijing, under the slogan "Together for a Shared Future."
A number of Their Excellencies from the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir attended the inauguration ceremony.
The opening ceremony began with a visual display of creative and lyrical acts, followed by the arrival of flags from participating countries amid a fireworks display.
