Arab Labor Organization praises Qatar’s commitment to workers’ welfare

Arab Labor Organization (ALO) Director-General Fayez Ali Al Mutairi praised Qatar for its work in the field of labour reforms, saying the changes benefitted thousands of workers over the years.
Acknowledging Qatar’s role as one of ALO’s key partners and supporters, Al Mutairi recalled a report he had written and submitted to the International Labor Organization in 2016. In it, he praised the country’s interest in improving workers’ welfare following a visit to their accommodations in the country.

Al Mutairi spoke about Qatar’s huge success in hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“The successful organisation of the competition highlighted the ability of Arab and Islamic countries to host such mega-events. It was a source of great pride for all Arab nations and its people, without exception,” he said.
“I congratulate HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the country’s government and its people for the World Cup’s success on Arab soil. Qatar passed all challenges over the past years with great persistence and determination. They also succeeded in preserving Arab religious values and authentic traditions while hosting the World Cup,” he added.
The top official was also all praise for the role played by Qatari women in society, public and private business sectors and their assumption of various leadership positions.
Qatar has always worked towards improving the worker experience, constantly updating its various digital platforms with more services to make things easier for them. Recently, they added two new services — request for extension of QID validity date and request to modify the location of the recruitment office.
