AWQAF announces registration for upcoming Hajj season to begin on September 20, 2023
The Ministry of Endowments (AWQAF) and Islamic Affairs announced during a press conference today that the registration for the upcoming Hajj season will begin at 8 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. AWQAF noted that citizens and residents have until October 20, 2023, to register provided they meet the following requirements:
- Both citizens and residents should register via the Hajj website
- Qatari citizens should be at least 16 years old and may include five companions
- Gulf citizens should be at least 18 years old, possess a Qatar ID and may include one companion
- Residents should be at least 40 years old, have maintained a residency in Qatar for 10 years and may include one companion
Following the conclusion of the registration on October 20, 2023, it was stated that an electronic sorting and approval process will begin in November. It was further noted that the Hajj quota for Qatar is 4400 pilgrims regardless of nationality, provided that the requirements are met.
