Indian actor Saif Ali Khan, who predominantly works in the Hindi film industry and has a wide fan following around the world, has purchased a new property at The St Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl.

The actor’s luxury purchase comes just three months after he suffered a knife attack incident at his home in Mumbai, India.

On January 16, an intruder had allegedly attempted a robbery at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence. During the confrontation, the actor was stabbed, resulting in serious injuries. He was then rushed to the Lilavati Hospital, where he was treated.
At a Press event hosted by the Alfardan Group, Saif Ali Khan opened up about his island property.

“When I think of a holiday home or a second home, there’re a few things I think of. One is that it isn’t very far away and easily accessible. The other thing, the most important thing, is that it’s very safe and feels very good to be there. The concept of an island within an island is also very luxurious and beautiful, and it’s just a really lovely place to live,” he said.

“The feeling you get when you’re there is the important thing, and the views, the food, the kind of lifestyle, the pace of living… these were some of the things that led to my decision,” he was quoted as saying.

The Indian actor called the new property as a ‘home away from home.’

“I’d gone there to do some work and was shooting there for something. I stayed at the property and thought it was amazing. There was something about the mixture of privacy and luxury that I really liked,” he said.

Khan also heaped praises on the quality of food and the vibrant menu.

“It felt like a home away from home, so that made it very easy. The main thing really is that it’s peaceful and secluded if that’s the kind of thing you’re looking for,” he said.

Saif said he was keen to bring his family — especially kids Taimur and Jeh — to the property.

Workwise, he will be seen next in Netflix’s Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. The movie will premiere on April 25.
