Community members attend Hilton Doha The Pearl’s breast cancer awareness event

Influencers, media and community representatives gathered at the Lobby Café at Hilton Doha The Pearl for a special Afternoon Tea held to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Themed the ‘Pink Afternoon Tea’, the invited guests heard obstetrician and gynecologist Doctor Latife Bahap from the Turkish Hospital in Qatar deliver an educational briefing on the need for breast cancer awareness and regular testing for early detection of the disease.
Dr. Latife then answered a range of questions from the audience. The session was also repeated for female staff members of Hilton Doha The Pearl.
“It is important for all women to understand that while breast cancer remains the leading cancer among women in Qatar, it is treatable and the earlier it is detected, the better the chances of successful treatment and recovery,“ explained Dr. Latife.
“We are really grateful to Hilton Doha The Pearl for helping us spread this important message which could save much distress and the lives of some.”
According to Qatar National Cancer Registry (QNCR), breast cancer constitutes 16.58 percent of all cancer cases in Qatar and is the most common cancer, at 39.15 percent, among females in the country and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among Qatari women.
