Darb Lusail Flower Festival brings back memories of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

The Lusail Boulevard, which hosted thousands of passionate football fans during the Middle East’s first-ever FIFA World Cup last year, is now resplendent in multi-coloured flowers and plants.
The Darb Lusail Flower Festival featured a parade named ‘Flower Float’ on Friday, which showcased a diversity of cultural costumes and monuments adorned with vibrant flowers.
It brought back nostalgic memories of the 2022 FIFA World Cup — which also featured diverse fans from different nations and regions — to many who gathered at the event.
“Being there made me feel nostalgic and brought back the excitement of celebrating different cultures at the FIFA World Cup. It was a time for people from different nations to come together, to adopt and learn about each other’s cultures,” said Lana, who was at both the World Cup and the flower festival.
The festival also played popular music from the 2022 World Cup, further fuelling a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
The flower float kicked off by showing Qatar’s rich culture, with men dressed in their traditional white thobes and holding ceremonial swords. It was followed by a flower float showcasing Chinese culture and others.
African drums set up a lively atmosphere at the show and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performances.
Today will be your last chance to enjoy the Darb Lusail Flower Festival. The festival, which runs from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm, will conclude today.
