Dimdex 2024 to kick off today with 200 companies, nine international pavilions
The 8th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2024) will kick off at the Qatar National Convention Centre today.
The three-day event, held every two years under the patronage of HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani by the Qatar Armed Forces, is expected to be a key gathering for the international maritime defence community.
The Dimdex 2024 Organising Committee said over 200 international and local companies will showcase their latest innovations, technologies, and comprehensive defence and maritime security solutions.
The exhibition will also feature nine international pavilions representing numerous companies, authorities, and institutions from Turkey, USA, Italy, France, Germany, UK, Iran, China and Qatar.
To foster cooperation among stakeholders and address emerging challenges in maritime security, Dimdex 2024 will attract key decision-makers from around the world.
“Dimdex 2024 aims to lay the groundwork for increased co-operation among relevant stakeholders. Its main goal will be to build partnerships and alliances that focus on establishing security and stability in our seas, positively affecting the economic and social well-being of nations and communities,” said Qatar’s Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, in a statement on their website.
Aligning seamlessly with Qatar’s strategic priorities, Dimdex serves as a vital platform for safeguarding maritime security and integrity.
“This year, Dimdex continues to build on the successes of past editions, further solidifying its leading position as one of the major players in the fields of defence and international maritime security,” said Dimdex chairman Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Al Ansari.
Dimdex’s reputation as the only specialised maritime defence exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region has seen exponential growth since its inception in 2008.
The Organising Committee stressed Dimdex’s vital role in providing a platform for knowledge exchange at the highest levels between the industry and government.
With a focus on the latest technological advancements and expert panel discussions, Dimdex 2024 is set to contribute significantly to the global maritime defence and security sector.
