Dr. Fathy Saoud former president of Qatar Foundation passes away

Qatar Foundation’s first-ever president, Dr. Fathy Saoud – who played a vital role in the journey and success of the organization from its early years – has passed away.

As a team member, Dr. Saoud steered Qatar Foundation (QF) with a pivotal role in developing the Education City campus.

He helped negotiate with international universities that eventually established branch campuses in Education City and still exist today. Also, in establishing QF’s research, development, and innovative enterprise.

Dr. Saoud was a higher education advisor to QF from 1997 to 2007 – a member of QF’s Board of Directors from 2003 – before serving as President of Qatar Foundation between 2009 and 2013.

Qatar Foundation is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Saoud, sending its sincere condolences to his family.
