Education City Tram’s Green Line is now open to public
The Education City Tram Green Line — the newest addition to Qatar Foundation’s transport network — is now officially open to the public.
The Gharafat/Al Rayyan intersection, through which the new tram line will pass through, has been made extra safe with traffic lights, speed cameras and additional roadside barriers.
Hamad Al Kuwari, Executive Director of City Operations at Qatar Foundation, said it was a great addition to the facilities already in place.
“The Green Line is the third line we’re opening and it’ll connect the North Campus with the South. Sidra, Qatar National Convention Centre, Qatar Science and Technology Park and our accommodation in the North Campus will all be seamlessly connected,” he told Qatar Living.
“This will allow our students, faculty, staff and people commuting through Education City to move freely without the use of cars. It’ll have a major impact on the carbon footprint they leave behind,” he added.
