Elon Musk renames Twitter as ‘X,’ replaces the iconic blue bird logo
Elon Musk, the maverick owner of social media giant Twitter, officially changed the company’s famous bird logo to an ‘X’ on Monday.
It was part of a sweeping rebranding process which the 52-year-old had recently announced on the social media platform.
Musk, who see-sawed between decisions before finally acquiring Twitter for $44bn late last year, had said the company would “bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

Interim X logo goes live later today.
While the domain X.com currently directs users to Twitter’s homepage, the original address — Twitter.com — is also active. Meanwhile, branding on the mobile apps is still only getting gradually replaced.
Twitter’s transformation into ‘X’ is part of Musk’s larger vision, to turn the platform into his dream ‘everything app.’
X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino had written on Sunday that ‘X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centred in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.’
The company first began transitioning to ‘X’ in April, when Twitter Inc. changed to X Corp. Musk, who serves as the company’s Executive Chairman and CTO, said tweets will now be called x’s. However, he said the ‘concept of retweets had to be rethought.’

The Tesla CEO tweeted Sunday that he likes the letter ‘x,’ and his affinity for it isn’t new, according to his other business ventures.
SpaceX, Musk’s rocket manufacturer, also features an X as its logo, and Musk recently launched a new artificial intelligence start-up called xAI, with the lofty goal of “understanding the true nature of the universe.”
Musk also co-founded PayPal, which was previously called X.com before it rebranded in 2001. He repurchased the domain from PayPal in 2017.
