FIBA WASL FINAL 8

FIBA WASL is the most prominent basketball club competition in Asia, featuring participation from 18 teams across 14 countries. Only the top 8 teams qualify for the Final 8 stage in Doha. The FINAL 8 is the concluding stage of the FIBA West Asia Super League, where teams ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from the FIBA West Asia and Gulf leagues qualify, along with the champions from India and Kazakhstan. The 1st and 2nd place teams in the Final 8 will advance to play in the Basketball Champions League.

A Night of D.C. Jazz with BIRCKHEAD

The U.S. Embassy is bringing BIRCKHEAD to Doha via the American Music Abroad (AMA) Program.  First known as Jazz Ambassadors, then Rhythm Road, and now American Music Abroad, AMA is the United States’ flagship music exchange program that reaches audiences in more than 30 countries each year. Over 110 AMA bands have traveled to more than 130 countries around the world, including Qatar, since 2012.

BIRCKHEAD is a jazz quartet, led by woodwind artist and composer Brent Birckhead. They will bring Washington, D.C.’s jazz heritage and perform a diverse repertoire that spans traditional jazz to contemporary grooves.
