Expo 2023 Doha signs Ooredoo as Strategic Partner; QDB also comes on board
The Organizing Committee of Expo 2023 Doha announced a landmark partnership agreement with Ooredoo, naming the company as the event’s Strategic Partner.
The official signing ceremony took place in the presence of Qatar’s Minister of Municipality HE Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Expo Secretary General Mohamed Ali Al Khoury, Ooredoo Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al Thani and Ooredoo’s Chief Business Officer Thani Al Malki.
The Expo 2023 Doha Horticultural Exhibition, which is slated to kick off on October 2, will offer a platform for innovation, cooperation, and sustainability-focused global dialogue.
The new partnership with Ooredoo will help cement Qatar’s commitment towards sustainable development and will highlight the numerous sustainability initiatives launched by Ooredoo as part of its corporate social responsibility engagement.

Ooredoo will play a pivotal role in supporting the overarching goals of Expo 2023 Doha by helping promote sustainable practices and face global challenges. The partnership will also go hand-in-hand with Qatar’s commitment towards bolstering sustainability across all facets of society and relevant sectors.

Meanwhile, Expo 2023 Doha’s Organizing Committee also signed a partnership agreement with Qatar Development Bank (QDB) to promote and support entrepreneurship throughout the duration of this six-month-long event.
Al Khoury and QDB’s CEO Abdulrahman Hesham Al Sowaidi formalised the agreement to instil a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Global Horticultural Exhibition.
As per the agreement, QDB will serve as a collaborative partner in organizing events and activities dedicated to fostering innovation within agriculture and sustainability and support for entrepreneurs. QDB will also host activities geared towards educating young entrepreneurs about sustainable development and financial awareness.

A series of educational activations with the theme ‘Innovation and Sustainability’ will cater to youth and general visitors alike.
The bank’s flagship ‘ROWAD’ entrepreneurship conference, hackathon and awards will also draw thousands of visitors from across the GCC and the wider region, highlighting the importance of technological advancements and promoting environmentally friendly initiatives.
