Expo 2023 Doha’s volunteer registrations to open in less than two weeks
The six-month-long Expo 2023 Doha, set to kick off at Al Bidda Park on October 2, will be the second-biggest event the country has ever hosted. And as its countdown progresses, excitement is bubbling.
Expo 2023 Doha’s Secretary General Engr. Mohammed Ali Al Khouri said volunteer registrations for the mega event would open in less than two weeks, with the aim of recruiting between 3,000 and 4,000 volunteers.
“The registration process will commence in less than two weeks and it’ll be followed by careful screening of applications. An official announcement regarding the application procedure will soon be made through our event’s official website and different social media channels,” said the top official.

Expo 2023 Doha will be the first instance the mega horticultural exhibition is being held in a desert climate. It is expected to encourage innovative approaches to horticulture with a focus on climate, water, and soil sustainability.
The exhibition, housed inside a massive 1,700,000SqM area within Al Bidda Park, will be divided into three areas where volunteers will be assigned.
The 700,000SqM international area on the park’s northern side will be the main hub for international gardens, exhibitions, and events.
The family area, which takes pride of place at the heart of the park, will provide a venue for family-oriented activities, gatherings, and outdoor pursuits. It will be spread over a 500,000SqM area.
The cultural area in the southern zone will host cultural and traditional activities and exhibitions. It will take up a 500,000SqM area.
With more than three million visitors expected at Expo 2023 Doha, it will showcase Qatar’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Themed ‘Green Desert, Better Environment,’ Expo 2023 Doha will bring together nations, organisations, and individuals from across the globe to explore new environmental and horticultural solutions.
The list of entities joining hands with the mega event has spiked in recent days. Two key organisations — Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport — recently joined hands with Expo 2023 Doha.
Representatives of Expo 2023 Doha had also signed an agreement of cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council at Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality.
Expo 2023 Doha’s National Committee Chairman and Minister of Municipality Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie officially received the event’s flag from 2019 organisers Beijing, China, during a spectacular ceremony.
