The Trauma and Emergency Center at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has overseen the expansion of a female patients’ assessment area with a resultant 60% increase in bed capacity. The move has been in tandem with the goal to deliver enhanced access to emergency for female patients.

HMC announced via a press release on their official website and through their socials, that the newly expanded area will provide more efficiency in dealing with emergency cases in a prompt manner.

The Chief Medical Officer at HMC, Dr. Abdulla Al Ansari quotes that the expansion of the assessment area for females forms an important advancement for the Trauma and Emergency Center to ensure better patient satisfaction. Ever since the Center opened in 2019, it has consistently been offering high-quality medical services for patients who come in seeking emergency care. The new extended area will ensure patients’ needs are promptly addressed and given appropriate treatment to ensure a greater level of patient satisfaction.

At the Trauma and Emergency Care Center, the patients are first received on the ground floor through the See and Treat department, and other units such as trauma, urgent care, and critical care services are spread across the other three floors of the Center.

“This new Unit is dedicated to patients who have moderate medical conditions, but do not need full admission to Hamad General Hospital’s Inpatient Unit, and require monitoring and treatment for up to 23 hours before being discharged home,” says Dr.Aftab Mohammad Azad, Deputy Chairman, Corporate Dept of Emergency Medicine. The spacious and private rooms in the newly extended facility offer patients unparalleled comfort and access to world-class treatment, assessment, and recovery services by HMC.
