Fourth Qatar Balloon Festival set to take flight on December 7
The fourth edition of the annual Qatar Balloon Festival (QBF), a popular event that attracts thousands of spectators, will be held at the Katara Cultural Village from December 7 to 18.
As in its previous editions, QBF will offer a large variety of entertainment activities for visitors of all ages. While more than 50 hot air balloons of different shapes, sizes, and colors will be on display, there will also be a family area filled with inflatable castles and other games for children.
While a food court will serve people with international street food, a VIP Majlis will be activated for special guests.

“This year, Katara was selected as the QBF’s venue thanks to its convenient location, easy accessibility by Doha Metro, superior parking facilities, as well as spectacular panoramic views of the Doha skyline,” said Safe Flight Solutions CEO Hassan Al Mousawi, who is the main organiser of the QBF.
Qatar Tourism’s Head of Communications Dr Buthaina Al Janahi said: “Qatar Tourism has been QBF’s strategic partner for years, working together to promote the country as an exciting tourist destination for international visitors and offer an exciting activity for the local community. Qatar is poised to welcome more visitors this season. Visitors will be able to experience Qatar’s unique cultural and contemporary offerings, all set against a safe and inviting atmosphere.”
Morning balloon flights will take place at sunrise from various take-off points and will be finalized one night prior based on wind direction and weather conditions.
Those who are interested in watching the simultaneous take-off of 50 hot air balloons should follow the festival’s social media handles for location updates.
To promote public engagement, the festival will offer 1000 hot air balloon ride tickets at a subsidized price of QAR499, available for booking through asfary.com.
